Tsuba with orchids and dewdrops

Details

  • Catalogue text

Four orchid plants forming interlaced curves; no border; silver dot dewdrops and touches of gold nunome on the leaves.

Compare No.716 [EAX.10717]. The MS. Catalogue has a note to the effect that this artist died in 1769; I have been unable to check this statement and incline to the belief, as above suggested, that Masayoshi worked during the earlier part of the 19th century.
