    The surface represents the bark of a cherry-tree with three flowering twigs in low-relief; petals tipped with gold nunome; pistils and anthers given by gold dots; ryōhitsu of jagged outline.

    Nunome work on sentoku (or indeed on any soft metal) is by no means common.
