Irregular mokkō; very rough surface pierced with a nearly symmetrical group of four holes above and below; ryōhitsu of [symmetrical scalloped and bi-lobed ellipse] form plugged with stone-grain copper edged with gold [see Fig. 4].
This guard appears to have been burnt, and, if really old, has been much polished up in modern times and the ryōhitsu provided with their sumptuous plugs.
