Catalogue text
A knotted interlace with yellow outlines and a brown and yellow central line is arranged to form two interlocking quatrefoils.
The embroidery is apparently done on a turquoise silk fabric woven in twill, with a linen backing. The embroidery is very finely executed. In: Barnes, Ruth and Marianne Ellis, ‘The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries’, 4 vols, 2001, Oxford, Ashmolean Museum
