A blazon is completely filled by a crescent with brown and yellow outline; the crescent and open space within the blazon contain small, fine tendrils embroidered in yellow, brown and green and ending in brown and green leaves. At the zenith of the crescent is a green trefoil.
The embroidery stitching has been done over two layers of fabric. In: Barnes, Ruth and Marianne Ellis, ‘The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries’, 4 vols, 2001, Oxford, Ashmolean Museum
