Catalogue text
A band embroidered with a turquoise background has four fine yellow lines of interlacing, creating ovals and knots.
The width of the band is 1.3 cm. It fills almost the entire fragment. The fragment is identical to EA1984.329.a, and both were probably once part of the same fabric. In: Barnes, Ruth and Marianne Ellis, ‘The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries’, 4 vols, 2001, Oxford, Ashmolean Museum
