Catalogue text
Narrow bands of red and white linked diamonds, two with a pale blue background. In addition, there is the beginning of a larger design with ?rosettes and pale blue stars and a swastika on a red ground.
The reverse shows slightly more dye saturation for the red than the surface. There is no evidence for the use of resist prior to dyeing the blue. In: Barnes, Ruth, Indian Block-Printed Textiles in Egypt: The Newberry Collection in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 2 vols (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1997)
