Catalogue text
A border band with a corner at a right angle, filled with small, red medallions and a zigzag border, identical to the band of Cat. no. 1042 [EA1990.1049].
The resist application may at least partly be done by hand drawing. The reverse shows slightly more dye saturation than the surface. In: Barnes, Ruth, Indian Block-Printed Textiles in Egypt: The Newberry Collection in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 2 vols (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1997)
