Catalogue text
Closely set tendrils with long, indented leaves and small flower-heads seen in profile. The pattern is red against a white background.
A row of stitches along one, diagonal edge of the fragments, possibly once part of the tailoring of a garment. The reverse shows less dye saturation than the surface. In: Barnes, Ruth, Indian Block-Printed Textiles in Egypt: The Newberry Collection in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 2 vols (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1997)
