Catalogue text
Stylized leaves or trees, red with white details and partly filled with light blue, set onto a blue ground and surrounded by white lines and dots. In addition, the background is filled with white tendrils. The pattern is similar to Cat. no. 1126 [EA1990.1133].
The dye saturation for red is virtually identical on surface and reverse, but there is more blue on the reverse. In: Barnes, Ruth, Indian Block-Printed Textiles in Egypt: The Newberry Collection in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 2 vols (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1997)
