Catalogue text
The entire design is made up from small dots. There is a band of diagonal geometric designs with a hook motif, as in Cat. no. 53 [EA1990.71], and stars alternating with (?)script. The resist defines the pattern, the background is blue.
Three side of the fragment have a rolled hem. The small fragment Cat. no. 58 [EA1990.66] may have been part of this fabric. In: Barnes, Ruth, Indian Block-Printed Textiles in Egypt: The Newberry Collection in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 2 vols (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1997)
