The marriage of Yusuf and Zuleykha
The burning passion of Zuleykha for the beautiful Yusuf is found in both the Judeo-Christian tradition (Genesis, 39: 1–23) and in the Qur’an (sura 12). In its Persian adaptation, the tale became an allegory of the mystic’s quest for true love.
