Faint mokkō, with gently hammered-up edge; a wisteria vine (continued on the back) and a swallow, in realistic iro-e zōgan incrustation.
Signed in cursive script: Shōami Katsuyoshi [Japanese text] no tagane ([Japanese text] "chiselled") and dated Keiō IV (1868), midsummer (Fifth month).
