    Paris, Louvre, inv. Ma 510.

    Donated to the Louvre by M.J. Maciet. Traceable to ‘a castle between Tours and Blois in central France’. Probably from Italy.

    Head of female figure in classical style. 1st-2nd century AD.

    Painted yellow. Part of plinth knocked off (preserved). Damaged and discoloured by two blows on right cheek and two blows on the hair above right ear.

    Modern: the tip of the nose.
