Catalogue text
Fret-pierced, with slight engraving finish; two badges, one a swastika, the other a pair of crossed hawk feathers within a ring, two daki-myōga (bounding the ryōhitsu), and eight karigane.
The design is reminiscent of guards in group III (f), especially Nos.44-49 [EAX.10144, EAX.10145, EAX.10146, EAX.10147, EAX.10148, EAX.10149]. Both badges belong to various daimiō families; they were the principal and secondary badges (jōmon, kayemon) of the Takaki of Tannami in Kawachi.
