A Rhythm of Landscape

Wai Pong Yu was born on Hainan Island and moved to Hong Kong with his family at the age of two. In 2006 he graduated from the Department of Fine Arts in Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is best known for his biro drawings of lines and dots, which are also the two essential elements of traditional ink paintings. Wai believes that ‘lines will throb and dots will flow’. The composition of lines and dots becomes a rhythm of landscape in his drawings.
