Catalogue text
A wide band with ornate floral design and a large half-medallion; the design is generally white with brown outlines on a red ground. Adjacent to this are two narrow bands, one with crosses and discs, the other with half-rosettes, white on a brown ground.
The reverse shows less dye saturation than the surface. In: Barnes, Ruth, Indian Block-Printed Textiles in Egypt: The Newberry Collection in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 2 vols (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1997)
