Textile fragment with ornate rosette, and tendrils with flower-heads

Details

  • Catalogue text

A band arrangement with an ornate, eight-petalled rosette in a frame that follows the circular outline of the flower, and tendrils with small flower-heads. Additional motifs are fragmentary. In the band, the resist defines the outline of the design, but the form itself is blue; see especially the tendrils and flower-heads. The outline is against a blue background.

    Some remains of stitching.
