Catalogue text
A wide central band with linked diamonds, densely embroidered, has a narrow border band on either side with a stylized vine and tendrils. For these bands the embroidery fills in the background. Stylized plants are embroidered at right angles along the narrow end of the bands.
There is a stitched hem along one side with a selvedge. In: Barnes, Ruth and Marianne Ellis, ‘The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries’, 4 vols, 2001, Oxford, Ashmolean Museum
