Catalogue text
A band with four different types of rosettes, as in Cat. no. 511 [EA1990.518]. Small trefoils are set into the spandrels. The pattern is white against a red ground, the centres of the rosettes are brown.
The brown centres of the rosettes have all but one disintegrated. The reverse is saturated with dye.In: Barnes, Ruth, Indian Block-Printed Textiles in Egypt: The Newberry Collection in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 2 vols (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1997)
