Catalogue text
Three closely parallel bands, each with a different design. The motifs are interlace, diamond and hook, and diamonds with S- and reverse S-shapes. The colour changes within the bands.
The fragment may have come from the same fabric as EA1984.506, as design structure and technical details are similar. In: Barnes, Ruth and Marianne Ellis, ‘The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries’, 4 vols, 2001, Oxford, Ashmolean Museum
