Catalogue text
Two parallel bands have heart-shaped leaves and spiral trees, alternating and embroidered in yellow and green; a single band with remains of brown, yellow, green, and blue embroidery is too deteriorated to be able to make out the design.
Two pieces of fabric are sewn together with a flat seam. A button made up from fabric and a button loop remain along a hemmed edge parallel to the bands. In: Barnes, Ruth and Marianne Ellis, ‘The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries’, 4 vols, 2001, Oxford, Ashmolean Museum
