Cast of a votive relief to the nymphs from Athens

    Relief with gods and hero. Above are the river-god Acheloos,
    Hermes, three nymphs, and Pan. Below a hero approaches Demeter
    and Persephone leading a horse. Dedicated to the nymphs and all
    the gods by a group of washer-men and –women according to the
    inscription: ‘The praying washermen gave to the nymphs and all the
    gods. Soagoras son of Zokypros, Zokypros son of Soagoras, Thallos,
    Leuke, Sokrates son of Polykratos, Apollophanes son of Euporionos,
    Sosistratos, Manes, Myrrhine, Sosias, Sosigenes, Midas’.
