    Athens, National Museum, inv. 6439.

    Found in 1880 in the Sanctuary of Zeus at Olympia, Greece, close to the northwest corner of the Prytaneion.

    Head from a statue of a boxer, with full beard, curly hair and cauliflower ears, wearing wreath. The eyes are missing and would have been inserted in a different material.

    Cast painted by W.H. Young (NEOS) 1907.
