Catalogue text
A continuous design of paired leaves, geese (hamsa), and quatrefoils, similar in arrangement to the previous fragments and to Cat. no. 794 [EA1990.801]. Another example including the hamsa is Cat. no. 805 [EA1990.807].
The reverse shows more dye saturation than the surface. Possibly 15th century; see radiocarbon result of Cat. no. 797 [EA1990.804].In: Barnes, Ruth, Indian Block-Printed Textiles in Egypt: The Newberry Collection in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 2 vols (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1997)
