Flagon
On display
Large flagon, silver, parcel-gilt, with embossed and chased, flat-chased, engraved, cast and pierced decoration, including strapwork, masks, cherub heads, fruit and around the foot medallions with a boar and two dogs. The finial is a warrior with spear and shield, the shield is charged with two crossed maces, identified by M. Wellby as the arms of Dahmen of Lubeck. The thumbpiece is cast with a mask and scrollwork.
