Catalogue text
Two wide bands and two narrow bands, with pattern and arrangement identical to Cat. no. 72 [EA1990.80]. The wide bands have eight-petalled rosettes with a dot at the centre, lobed squares, and small, single dots; the narrow bands have a running vine with separate leaves. The resist defines the design, the background is blue.
A very small fragment has separated from the main fabric. It measures 3.5 cm. x 3.5 cm.In: Barnes, Ruth, Indian Block-Printed Textiles in Egypt: The Newberry Collection in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 2 vols (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1997)
