Textile fragment with leaves

Details

  • Catalogue text

Small single leaves are arranged in diagonal rows. The leaves are light blue with a red spot at the base. In addition there is a border band with a continuous vine and flower, also light blue and red. All design elements have fine, brown outlines.

A knotted fringe along the border band. The pattern was stamped onto both sides of the fabric; the match is not entirely perfect. The textile is probably 19th century, printed in Rajasthan.
