    Modelled openwork within medium border, with incrustation of copper, a little gold, silver, and a bit of mokume; the corner of a veranda, with the famous Chinese general, Kuan Yü, seated on a tiger-skin at a low table reading a scroll, his Dragon Spear [compare with EAX.10714] behind him. Signed: Tō-Ō Kwaiyō no jū ("resident of the district of Aidzu in Eastern Mutsu province") Chōkaku [Japanese text] with seal Nobu-aki? [Japanese text].
