Textile fragment with flowering trees

Details

  • Catalogue text

A band of flowering trees, one with a trunk made up from two rows of dots, the other without a trunk but with a tall central flower emerging, on either side flanked by a flower. The design is similar to Cat. no. 929 [EA1990.935]. The trees are red with white details, against a blue background.

Each corner has a single stitch. The reverse shows more dye saturation than the surface. The size of the block used was 13 cm. x 8 cm.
