Textile fragment with stylized shapes, possibly birds

    Blue, red, and white discs on a blue and brown ground are next to the selvedge. They are followed by a red band with white borders and filled with a row of white, highly stylized ?birds, each with a blue base; see Cat. no. 338 [EA1990.345]. Adjacent to it is a blue area, dyed over brown or red, with a single, large, red disc.

    Selvedge. The red and brown have not completely saturated the reverse, while additional blue appears where the resist has cracked.
