Oil painter. After studying briefly under Xu Beihong, he trained from 1955 until 1957 in the Central Academy of Art under the Russian artist K. M. Maksimov (1913-93), Stalin Prize winner and Professor in the Surikov Art Institute in Moscow, whose influence is reflected in this lively work. He later moved to Xi'an where, apart from a few years with relatives in California, he has spent the rest of his career.
