    Although this is a late impression of this famous print, lacking the subtlety of colouring of the first impressions, the concept of the night scene with touches of green amid the blacks and greys is still striking. The foxes were said to gather on New Year's even near the Oji Inari Shrine, bearing flames (scarcely visible here) for their annual meeting.
