Textile fragment with dots, chevrons, and fringe, possibly from a place-mat or jar cover

Details

  • Catalogue text

A rectangle with large red and light blue spots, as well as two rows of brown chevrons, on a dark blue ground, similar to Cat. no. 1188 [EA1990.1192]. As in that textile, there also is a twined border and fringe added.

The reverse shows slightly less dye saturation for the brown than the surface, and slightly more for the blue. The fringe measures 5.5 cm.
