Textile fragment with tendrils, leaves, and flower-heads

Details

  • Catalogue text

Fine tendrils turning back upon themselves, with thin leaves and flower-heads seen in profile. The pattern is red against a white background.

Stitches in coarse thread. Although the matching of the block print is done well, certain peculiarities in the pattern make it possible to define the block size as 11 cm. x 8.5 cm. The reverse is less saturated with dye than the surface.
