Textile fragment with flowers, leaves, and stars

Details

  • Catalogue text

A continuous design of red and blue flowers and leaves, connected by brown lines. Light blue outlines create large compartments, and the flowers, stars, and leaves are regularly arranged within. There is the beginning of a narrow, red band with stars in small compartments, as in Cat. no. 1004 [EA1990.1011].

Two irregular seams hold three fragments of the same fabric together. The fragment is woven from very fine thread, and there are similarities to Cat. nos. 1004 [EA1990.1011] and 1010 [EA1990.1017]. It is not possible to distinguish between surface and reverse.
