Textile fragment with linked circles and stars

Details

  • Catalogue text

A large field of linked circles, each with a beaded surround and a star at the centre, as in Cat. no. 719 [EA1990.726]. The pattern is white against a red ground, with some details in brown.

Selvedge, and some blue stitching along it. The reverse is heavily saturated with dye. The size of the block used was 9.5 cm. x 9.5 cm. The textile is identical to the previous textile [EA1990.726], and probably was part of the same fabric.
