Textile fragment with tendrils, leaves, and flowers

Details

  • Catalogue text

Tendrils with leaves and flowers attached, as in Cat. no. 409 [EA1990.416]. The pattern is red against a white background.

The fragment was clearly part of Cat. no. 409 [EA1990.416], as design, dye technique, threadcount, and shape of the actual two pieces indicate. The tear at the narrowest end of the previous textile [EA1990.416] matches that at one end of this fragament [EA1990.417]. The reverse is less saturated with dye than the surface.
