Textile fragment with dots and fringe, possibly from a place-mat or jar cover

    A rectangle with large red and small white dots, diagonally set on a dark blue background. A fringe of tassles surrounds the rectangle.

    The reverse shows more dye saturation for the blue. Mordant and resist were applied by hand. There is a twined border and fringe, made from a flax thread. The fringe is 5 cm. long.
