Textile fragment with part of a large leaf, tendrils, and bunches of fruit

Details

  • Catalogue text

Fragment of a very large leaf shape, probably related to the design of Cat. no. 1121 [EA1990.1128]. The leaf is light blue and filled with red leaves with white dots. The red background is filled with white tendrils and bunches of fruit.

A thin, brown outline was first applied to the fabric to define the design. The reverse shows more dye saturation than the surface. Two seams mend the fabric.
